After attending a days training at The Mountbatten School our Year 6 Bronze Ambassadors came back to Braishfield fully prepared to successfully plan and deliver PE lessons to the KS2 children. They are looking forward to sharing their expertise across the school and developing their role into organising whole school events.
A group of enthusiastic pupils left Braishfield School on Friday afternoon to go to an Athletics competition at the Mountbatten school. We did a series of challenging activities such as long jump, triple jump and chest push. There were also activities like speed bounce and vertical jump. Then the races commenced. Three laps was ran by Alice, Hannah, Theo, VJ, Violet, Isabelle, Toby and Austin. Our fast, sporty and cheerful students (Violet, Theo, and Isabelle ran an astonishing 1st place win for our school. At the end of the day both Saplings (Year 3/4) and Oaks (Year 5/6) came 3rd, which meant overall Braishfield came third out of eight schools!

Year 5/6 Netball Festival
On Friday 8 teams took part in the year 5/6 netball festival. There were two leagues: the A league and the B league. Braishfield was in the B league with 7 other teams.
Before the festival, all of the schools played against each other so that the Mountbatten Helpers could work out whether you would be in the A or B league. The scores were unbelievable and Mrs Cooper mentioned that the team had improved immensely from the first time that we played.
Braishfield only lost one match 4-0 against Awbridge. We drew 0-0 against Halterworth 2 and won the next 5 matches against Cupernham, Nursling 3 and 2, Rownhams and North Baddesley 2. Braishfield received 10 points.
The team was made up of Year 5 and 6 children. Only two boys were allowed on court for each game. 6 girls and 3 boys took part. We finished in second place in our league and received silver medals and certificates for good sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience.
